Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Specialist to guide clients in adopting Google Cloud Platform services.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in networking, compute infrastructure and cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
  • 6+ years in project management and technical solution delivery.
  • Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (Python, Java, Go, C/C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% for client engagements.

  • Propose solution architectures and manage the deployment of cloud networking solutions according to customer requirements and implementation best practices.
  • Design and implement cloud-based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations that enable business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal specialists, product, and engineering teams to package approaches, best practices, and lessons learned into thought leadership, methodologies, and published assets.
  • Interact with sales, partners, and customer technical stakeholders to manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, risks and issues, and timelines for successful client outcomes.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in networking, compute infrastructure (e.g. servers, databases, firewalls, load balancers) and architecting, developing, or maintaining cloud solutions in virtualized environments.
  • 6 years of experience in project management and technical solution delivery.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with one or more third-party networking products (e.g., PANW, Fortinet, VMWare Cloud Foundation).
  • Experience in scalable networking design, including high availability, redundancy, failover, and load balancing.
  • Experience troubleshooting networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTP/S), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
  • Experience in customer-facing migration, including service discovery, assessment, planning, execution, and operations.
  • Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management.

The role also provides prescriptive guidance to ensure customers maximize the value of GCP throughout migrating, building, modernizing, and maintaining applications, while collaborating closely with Product Management and Product Engineering to drive product excellence.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $152000 - $221000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Canada: $170000 - $174000 (CAD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
