Job summary

Orion Innovation is seeking an experienced Migration Specialist to execute workload migrations, validate target environments, and monitor ongoing migration jobs. The role requires hands-on Linux/Windows administration, virtualization knowledge (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud basics across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years in IT, systems admin, or cloud infra.
• Hands-on with Linux and/or Windows Server administration.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper-V).
• Foundational understanding of at least one major cloud provider (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Basic networking concepts (VPNs, routing, firewalls) and storage.
• Methodical, detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting instincts.
• Willingness to work flexible hours around migration/cutover events.

Responsibilities

• Run workload migrations using established runbooks and delivery playbooks.
• Discover sources, prepare target environments, validate migrated workloads.
• Monitor migration jobs, troubleshoot, and escalate blockers to Delivery Lead.
• Record steps, results, and lessons learned for each client engagement.
• Participate in cutover events, including after-hours maintenance when required.
• Collaborate with Support and PMO to keep engagements moving smoothly.
