Job summary

Momentum Financial Services Group (MFSG) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, secure, and optimize cloud infrastructure, primarily in AWS, within our central Cloud Operations team. This is an engineering-focused role where you will shape MFSG’s cloud landscape with scalable, secure solutions.

You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, implement IaC, and enhance security controls, governance, and monitoring across environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cloud infrastructure and IT operations experience.
• 3+ years writing production-grade code.
• 3+ years automating deployments with Terraform.
• 3+ years designing secure AWS multi-account cloud solutions.
• 3+ years using DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git and GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, administer, and automate enterprise cloud infrastructure services and solutions.
• Engineer cloud solutions for new and migrated applications, aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software delivery and deployment.
• Create and manage golden AMIs, patch management, and monitoring.
• Review cloud security controls and improve security posture.
• Partner with tech teams to support cloud transformation and IaC adoption.
• Ensure governance, controls, auditing, and compliance.
• Define and implement operational capabilities to monitor production environments.
• Identify operational risks and opportunities to maintain highly available systems.

The Job: Cloud Engineer

What You’ll Do

As a member of the central Cloud Operations team, you will play a key role in designing, deploying, securing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and applications, primarily within AWS. This is an engineering-focused role where you'll help shape the future cloud landscape of the organization by implementing modern, scalable, and secure cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, manage, administer, and automate enterprise cloud infrastructure services and solutions.
• Engineer cloud solutions for new and migrated applications, ensuring alignment with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery and infrastructure deployment.
• Create and manage golden AMIs, patch management solutions, and infrastructure monitoring capabilities.
• Continuously review cloud security controls and recommend improvements to enhance security posture and compliance.
• Partner with technology teams to support their cloud transformation initiatives and adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Ensure cloud environments include appropriate governance, controls, auditing, and compliance mechanisms.
• Define and implement operational capabilities required to proactively monitor, manage, and optimize production environments.
• Identify operational risks and opportunities for improvement to maintain highly available, fault-tolerant systems.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

Technical Skills & Capabilities

• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python (preferred), Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with a broad range of AWS services and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with AWS networking and security services including:
  • IAM
  • KMS
  • Route 53 (DNS)
  • Load Balancers
  • Shield
  • WAF
  • GuardDuty
  • Security Hub
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and practices.
• Experience building and maintaining DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows.
• Knowledge of cloud security, compliance, governance, monitoring, and operational best practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams and communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Hands-on experience with a broad range of AWS services and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with AWS networking and security services including:

  • KMS
  • Route 53 (DNS)
  • Load Balancers

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, IT systems administration, network operations, software development/support, consulting, architecture, or related technology disciplines.
• 3+ years of experience writing production-grade code.
• 3+ years of experience automating infrastructure deployments using Terraform.
• 3+ years of experience designing and delivering secure AWS cloud solutions within a multi-account environment.
• 3+ years of experience working with:
  • DevOps practices
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Git and GitHub (including GitHub Actions)

Technical Experience

Experience with AWS core services including:

• EC2
• VPC
• RDS
• S3
• Lambda
• Experience creating and managing scalable, resilient, and secure cloud environments.

Certifications

AWS Certification and/or Azure Certification
