Our goal is to streamline processes, allowing development teams worldwide to focus on building business logic. We are expanding our development team with industry leaders who will drive innovation. The Cloud Engineer within the Modern App Platform Engineering team will create platform components and services for enterprise-wide use.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

1. Develop and maintain cloud platforms, services, and components for enterprise use.
2. Provide Level 3 support.
3. Design, implement, and refactor code.
4. Participate in design discussions on scalability and best practices.
5. Ensure high availability, integrity, and reliability of software and applications.
6. Collaborate with engineers and architects on scoping and estimating tasks.
7. Engage in planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups.
8. Build and operate scalable, highly available software and infrastructure.
9. Support application teams with platform guidance, design patterns, and security considerations.
10. Conduct peer reviews and quality checks regularly.

Do you have the skills to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:

1. 3+ years of relevant software development or infrastructure experience.
2. Enthusiasm for cloud transformation and platform development.
3. Strong experience in languages like Java, Python, Go.
4. Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
5. Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).
6. Ability to handle ambiguous problems of moderate complexity.
7. Experience with modern tech stacks.
8. Self-sufficient and able to work under supervision.
9. Strong written and spoken communication, especially with technical audiences.
10. Knowledge of design patterns, infrastructure architecture, DevOps, security.
11. Experience with databases.
12. Understanding of release processes, CI/CD, and binary repositories.
13. Attention to detail and quality standards.
14. Desire to learn and grow.
15. Passion for high performance and quality craftsmanship.
16. Experience with Kubernetes or containerized applications.
17. Experience in Canadian financial institutions and with Terraform is a plus.
18. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
