Job summary

Wave is seeking an Accounting Associate to own bookkeeping for a portfolio of small business clients and help deliver accurate financials. You will use Wave’s software to import transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare monthly statements while flagging issues and explaining concepts in plain terms.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
• 0–2 years of general work experience.
• Previous experience in cloud accounting.
• Customer-centric mindset with problem-solving skills.
• Stellar communication skills with the ability to convey accounting concepts in lay terms.
• Attention to detail is critical in this role.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the trusted advisor and accounting department for Wave’s small business clients.
• Owning bookkeeping accounts for clients within their portfolio to meet revenue targets.
• Using Wave’s software to import and categorize transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare monthly bookkeeping and financial statements.
• Flagging potential bookkeeping issues with clients and setting appropriate expectations.
• Meeting with clients on virtual calls to review their books.
