Job summary

City of Hamilton is seeking an Application Support Analyst to design, code, test and maintain web-based cloud applications and interfaces. You will support both in-house and vendor solutions, translate specifications into code, and participate in testing and documentation.

The role requires a formal computer science/IS education, strong SQL/JavaScript skills, familiarity with cloud platforms and ITIL practices, plus excellent communication abilities.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in computer science, information systems or related.
• Experience with cloud-based solutions in SharePoint, Power Platform, or D365.
• Knowledge of SQL and Oracle/SQL Server.
• Ability to translate functional specs into code and logic.
• Experience writing and executing unit test plans/scripts.
• Understanding of ITIL standards and SDLC processes.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test and maintain web-based cloud applications and components.
• Provide second-level support for vendor-packaged applications and interfaces.
• Develop technical specifications for new functionality.
• Create test plans, test data and perform unit testing.
• Review road maps, patch schedules, and apply configuration changes as needed.
• Prepare documentation and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Assist with on-call support and ensure health and safety policies are followed.
