Job summary

Salt XC is seeking a Software Engineer in Toronto to join the Media team. You will split time between building secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and delivering new AI-powered product features.

The role blends platform engineering, security, and software development to support the company’s cloud applications at scale. You’ll collaborate with product and engineering teams to manage CI/CD pipelines, production operations, and secure coding practices while advancing backend services and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 2–3 years of experience in software development, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build), Docker, and cloud infrastructure management.
• Working knowledge of application security, including secure coding, IAM, OAuth/SSO, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and security best practices.
• Experience developing full-stack applications and APIs using modern technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to manage production environments, monitor system health, and improve platform reliability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and scale cloud infrastructure and development environments.
• Develop integrations with social media platforms, enterprise systems, and external APIs.
• Improve platform reliability, monitoring, logging, and performance.
• Build and maintain data pipelines supporting AI products.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and secure data handling.
• Design, develop, and maintain full‑stack web applications and APIs.
• Build scalable backend services and modern frontend experiences.
• Participate in architecture, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
