This position is part of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta, in partnership with Alberta Health Services, within the Division of Pediatric Immunology, Hematology/Oncology, Palliative Care and Environmental Health (iHOPE).
The successful candidate will join the Pediatric Aid for Symptoms and Serious Illness Support Team (Peds ASSIST), providing interdisciplinary care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with serious illnesses.
The role involves approximately 40% clinical service and 60% academic pursuits, including research (50-75%) and teaching (10-50%).
Qualifications include an MD degree, completed subspecialty training in Pediatrics with pediatric palliative care experience, a minimum of 4 years research training (Masters or PhD), and a strong research record. Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta is required.
Preferred assets include certification or eligibility for a fellowship in Pediatric Palliative Care or Hematology/Oncology, and experience in clinical research focused on Pediatric Palliative Care.
