Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Psychology/ Social Work/ Family Nursing/ Art Therapy or related field.
• Current registration or active pursuit of registration with the appropriate professional association.
• Eligibility for licensure under Alberta’s Health Professions Act where applicable.
• Demonstrated clinical experience with supervisory/program development considered an asset.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond to diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct treatment services to a caseload of children, youth, and families (family, individual, group therapy).
• Complete assigned client assessments and prepare written reports per guidelines.
• Maintain timely, high-quality clinical records.
• Collaborate as an active member of interdisciplinary teams.

• Provide clinical consultation to Wood’s Homes programs and support training as needed.

Wood’s Homes is seeking a skilled and collaborative Clinician to join the William Taylor Learning Centre School-Based Mental Health Program. Working in partnership with the Calgary Board of Education, you will support children, youth, and families within a dynamic learning environment where education and mental health treatment come together.

This role is ideal for a graduate-level clinical professional who values relationship-based practice, interdisciplinary teamwork, and creative approaches to treatment. You will provide direct clinical services while working closely with young people, families, school staff, program colleagues, and community partners to promote meaningful progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct treatment services to a caseload of children, youth, and families through family, individual, and group intervention and therapy.
• Complete assigned client assessments and prepare written assessment reports in accordance with case management guidelines.
• Maintain timely, high-quality records of ongoing clinical work in accordance with professional and organizational requirements.
• Work as an active member of interdisciplinary clinical and school-based teams.
• Build strong, respectful relationships with youth, families, school partners, community resources, and program colleagues.
• Provide clinical consultation to Wood’s Homes programs as assigned and help strengthen clinical skill and knowledge.
• Support staff, practicum student, and community professional training when requested.
• Communicate actively with community resources regarding Wood’s Homes clients and programs.
• Participate in research and specialized projects as assigned.
• Engage actively in clinical and administrative supervision and ongoing professional development.
• Complete required health and safety training and promptly report hazards, unsafe conditions, and incidents.

What You Bring

• A master’s or PhD degree in Psychology, Social Work, Family Nursing, Art Therapy, or a related field.
• Current registration, or active pursuit of registration or certification, with the appropriate professional association.
• Where applicable, eligibility for licensure under Alberta’s Health Professions Act and a commitment to professional standards, guidelines, and ethics.
• Demonstrated clinical experience, with supervisory and program development experience considered an asset.
• Sound clinical judgment and the ability to respond effectively to diverse program and client needs.
• Strong relationship-building skills and emotional intelligence.
• Professional, clear, and timely written and verbal communication.
• The ability to work collaboratively, make informed decisions, and contribute positively within a dynamic environment.
• The ability to produce timely, high-quality clinical documentation and reports.

Additional Requirements

• Current proof of professional registration may be required for certain degrees or disciplines.
• A valid Alberta Class 5 or Class 5 GDL driver’s license, automobile insurance with $2 million liability coverage, and a driver’s abstract with no more than six demerits.
• Ability to work in settings that may include schools, community locations, and other program environments.
• Comfort working in situations that may involve emotional intensity, conflict, or crisis.
