Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority in the Northern Zone at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre seeks a Clinical Therapist to provide assessment, planning, treatment and crisis management for adults with mental health and addictions needs. The role reports to the Manager and emphasizes collaborative, person-centred care within a multidisciplinary team.

Requires a Master’s degree in a clinical health-related discipline, current registration, and at least two years of licensed experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a clinical health-related discipline.
• Current registration with the relevant provincial regulatory body.
• Two years of licensed clinical experience required; those with less may be considered for selection.
• Experience with DSM-5 criteria and mental health disorders.
• Ability to collaborate with families and work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment experience; non-violent crisis intervention preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient with multiple software applications.
