HOURS OF WORK: 75 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD

WAGE RANGE: $55.385 TO $62.663 PER HOUR

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

In alignment with the Mission and Values of Niagara Health, we are recruiting a dynamic leader who excels in engaging people, promoting quality, building successful teams, planning and decision making. Reporting to the Manager of Emergency, the successful individual will be responsible for the operational management of the Emergency Department. In this role, you will be accountable for the patient experience, day to day operations, patient flow, people and performance management, fiscal stewardship, risk management and safety, and the provision of high quality care through a commitment to continuous improvement.

We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, results oriented leader who consistently demonstrates an innovative, creative, and collaborative leadership style. The successful candidate will foster an environment of clinical excellence, in alignment with the principles of PCCC.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in health related discipline. Master's degree preferred
  • Current registration with relevant regulatory body and membership in applicable professional association
  • Minimum of 5 years related clinical experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of quality improvement
  • Sound analytical skills including; conceptualizing, developing and executing a wide variety of projects
  • Working knowledge of the Public Hospitals Act, regulated legislation, labour agreements, hospital policies/ procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice and application
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Standards in Emergency Care
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of evidence-based practice
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively within an inter-professional team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large/diversified workload with rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines
  • Superior interpersonal and leadership skills including but not limited to; critical thinking, communication, responsiveness, conflict resolution, change management, visionary thinking, organizational skills, effective customer service, decision-making skills and problem solving
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in healthcare and/or business
  • Familiarity with program development related to emergency care is an asset
  • Consistent and regular attendance required
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
