Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Manager, Clinical Risk Management to lead risk strategies for the Vancouver Acute Community of Care. You will partner with senior leadership to assess, mitigate and respond to complex clinical risks, including high-risk incidents and claims.

The role focuses on proactive risk management, policy implementation, and collaboration with external counsel and insurers. This 5-days-per-week, in-office position emphasizes leadership in patient safety and staff

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a clinical health care field, health care administration, juris doctor or related discipline plus 5–7 years’ related leadership experience.
• Registration with applicable College/Society/professional association as required for the profession, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to senior leadership, physicians and staff in identifying, analyzing and mitigating risks.
• Advise on risk assessment processes and development of policies and decision support tools.
• Lead/guide clinical and operational leadership through chart reviews and investigations of high-risk events.
• Represent VCH with external counsel and insurers in complex claims and risk discussions.
