Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada is seeking a Clinical Respiratory Consultant (RT/RN/RPN) for Sault Ste. Marie, ON. The role focuses on oxygen therapy, CPAP management, and collaborating with physicians to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

You will conduct respiratory assessments, initiate CPAP, and provide education on equipment use, while coordinating with the care team and participating in after-hours rotations.

Qualifications

• Licensed RT/RN/RPN within the province and eligible to practice.
• Strong cardio-respiratory assessment skills and OSA knowledge.
• Ability to use CPAP therapy equipment and provide patient education.

Responsibilities

• Perform full respiratory assessments and plan treatments with physicians.
• Initiate and manage CPAP therapy and assess device fit.
• Set up sleep diagnostic equipment and follow-up for efficacy and comfort.
• Coordinate with care teams and supervise new staff or students as needed.
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours coverage.

Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada is currently recruiting a highly energetic and motivated RT/RPN/RN for our Sault St Marie branch. The RT/RPN/RN provides all respiratory services with a focus on providing oxygen therapy, clinical and ventilatory support to the client while collaborating with referring physicians and ensuring patient safety.

Conduct full respiratory assessments to meet the client's goals and needs, ensuring quality care. This includes assessing and evaluating test results, delivering necessary equipment and supplies, and determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and care teams, as per prescription. Any discrepancies with respiratory therapy treatments are identified and brought to the attention of the care team.

Initiate and manage CPAP therapy as prescribed, providing education and instructions on equipment use and maintenance. Provides “best fit” facial interface for long term CPAP or BILEVEL treatment. Conduct appointments and set up equipment for sleep diagnostic testing. Provide regular follow-up to clients to assess treatment effects, comfort, and compliance, recommending adjustments as necessary.

Liaise with healthcare professionals to promote Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada, providing information and demonstrations of products and services to prospective clients. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical best practices and continuing education relevant to the position. Ensure compliance with funding processes and systems, and maintain accurate documentation through completion of company forms. Adhere to safety and infection control policies and protocols to protect clients and employees. Provide instruction, supervision, and evaluation for new staff and students as needed. Participate in oxygen and other respiratory services, including on-call duties when required. As needed, participate in on-call rotation and other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Licensed to practice with the provincial governing body.
• Strong cardio-respiratory assessment skills and good knowledge of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and CPAP therapy.
• Valid driver’s license and clear vulnerable persons check.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Willingness to participate in a rotational after-hours on-call schedule.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, with French fluency if required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google applications, as well as Android.

This job grade falls within a salary band starting at the minimum of $68,000 with opportunity for advancement.
