Job summary

Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada in Windsor, Ontario, is seeking a Clinical Respiratory Consultant to deliver oxygen therapy, sleep diagnostics, and ventilatory support with a patient-centered approach. You will collaborate with physicians, funders, and clients to ensure safe, evidence-based care and to grow the branch through excellent service.

The role requires RRT/RN/RPN credentials, CPAP expertise, and strong assessment skills.

Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or RN or RPN and license to practice.
  • RPSGT or CCSH certification preferred.
  • Strong cardio-respiratory assessment skills and knowledge of OSA.
  • Valid driver’s license and background check.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft and Google apps.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive respiratory services including oxygen therapy and sleep diagnostics.
  • Initiate and manage CPAP therapy; educate on equipment use and maintenance.
  • Set up sleep diagnostic testing per AASM guidelines.
  • Follow up with clients to assess treatment effects and compliance.
  • Assess home environments for safety and equipment quality.
  • Promote Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada to prospective clients.
  • Maintain knowledge of clinical best practices and continuing education.
  • Ensure compliance with funding processes and accurate documentation.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours duties.
  • Supervise and evaluate new staff and students as needed.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Clinical Respiratory Consultant provides comprehensive respiratory services, focusing on oxygen therapy, clinical and ventilatory support, as well as sleep diagnostics and therapeutics. This role involves collaborating with referring physicians and ensuring patient safety while working directly with clients, referral sources, and funding agencies to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for promoting our products and services and continuously works on growing the overall business through excellent customer service.

  • Conduct full respiratory assessments to meet the client’s goals and needs, ensuring quality care. This includes assessing and evaluating test results, delivering necessary equipment and supplies, and determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and care teams, as per prescription. Any discrepancies with respiratory therapy treatments are identified and brought to the attention of the care team.

  • Initiate and manage CPAP therapy as prescribed, providing education and instructions on equipment use and maintenance. Provides “best fit” facial interface for long term CPAP or BILEVEL treatment.

  • Conduct appointments and set up equipment for sleep diagnostic testing in accordance with American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines.

  • Provide regular follow-up to clients to assess treatment effects, comfort, and compliance, recommending adjustments as necessary.

  • Assess clients’ home environments for safety, addressing concerns, and performing quality control checks on equipment.

  • Liaise with healthcare professionals to promote Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada, providing information and demonstrations of products and services to prospective clients.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical best practices and continuing education relevant to the position.

  • Ensure compliance with funding processes and systems, and maintain accurate documentation through completion of company forms (both digital and non-electronic).

  • Uphold client confidentiality and protect company operations by safeguarding sensitive information.

  • Adhere to safety and infection control policies and protocols to protect clients and employees.

  • Provide instruction, supervision, and evaluation for new staff and students as needed.

  • Participate in oxygen and other respiratory services, including on-call duties when required.

  • Seek continuous improvement in branch operations by evaluating processes and participating in quality improvement activities.

  • As needed, participate in on-call rotation and other duties as required.

Are you a MATCH?
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

  • RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) or CCSH (Certified Clinical Sleep Health) certification.

  • Licensed to practice with the provincial governing body.

  • Strong cardio-respiratory assessment skills and good knowledge of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and CPAP therapy.

  • Valid driver’s license and clear vulnerable persons check.

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

  • Willingness to participate in a rotational after-hours on-call schedule.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English, with French fluency if required.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google applications, as well as Android.

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualification and other job-related reasons. This job grade falls within a salary band starting at the minimum of $65,000 with opportunity for advancement.
