The University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to support the Undiagnosed Disease Program. This role involves coordinating clinical studies, managing data, and working with various stakeholders to enhance research activities in genomics and precision medicine. Candidates should have experience in clinical settings and strong communication skills.
The Center for Human Genomics and Precision Medicine (CHGPM) at the School of Medicine and Public Health seeks an enthusiastic and highly organized Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to provide support to the Undiagnosed Disease Program (UDP). An ideal candidate will have experience in human subjects/medical research. The candidate must be able to work independently and have strong planning skills. The selected candidate must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills and be able to effectively interact and collaborate with patients, health care providers, staff, and researchers. They must be able to maintain accurate and organized records, perform medical record abstraction, and complete data entry in various databases.
The CRC will work under the direction of the Director of the Undiagnosed Genetic Disease Program on various projects to develop, implement, and enhance clinical and research activities related to genomics and precision medicine. On the clinical side, this position will interface with the Waisman Center, UW Health personnel and a referral network of clinicians to identify, extract and compile patient information and coordinate clinical research schedules. On the research side, this position with interface with the UW biotechnology center, WI State Lab of Hygiene, and researchers around the world to disseminate data and samples, track research progress, maintain research databases and ensure adherence to protocols.

Required Qualifications:
- Experience with data collection, data management, data verification, REDCap, OnCore or similar clinical research databases
- Experience in a clinical setting, including working with patients, electronic medical records (e.g., Epic) or compiling health information
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar suite
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in human subjects research
- Experience with project management, including a track record of project organization and documentation, and laboratory management
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with patients, healthcare providers and researchers
- Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly and with accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks based on deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%
This position requires most work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Up to one day per week may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

The starting salary for the position is $48,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every two years.
University sponsorship is not available for this position, including transfers of sponsorship and TN visas.
