Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary

Are you a registered Clinical Pharmacist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Clinical Pharmacist department.

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, this position provides pharmacy services to patients in Northern Health. As a member of an interprofessional team, this position assesses and recommends individualized treatments. Acts as the primary resource for drug information, education, and provides expert advice to healthcare professionals. Monitors drug prescribing, drug distribution, and drug therapy to ensure safe, effective, rational, legal, and economic use of drugs. Maintains workload records and statistics.

Shift Rotation/Hours of Work

Monday-Wednesday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00. The position will be part of an on-call rotation and may include future weekend rotations.

About St. Johns Hospital

St Johns Hospital is a 24-bed acute-care facility serving Vanderhoof, the Saik'uz First Nation, and acting as a referral center for surrounding communities including Burns Lake, Fort St. James, and Fraser Lake. Services include:

  • 24/7 Emergency department
  • Outpatient services
  • Dietician, Palliative Care, Oncology Clinic
  • Labor and delivery with C-section capabilities
  • Diagnostic Imaging, including Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy
  • Laboratory services including blood transfusions
  • 24/7 Operating Room with various surgical services
  • Inpatient Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy
  • Teaching facility for the University of Northern British Columbia

Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy, current licensure with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, and completion of a hospital pharmacy residency or equivalent experience. Membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.
