Northern Health invites a licensed Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy department at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital. The role focuses on patient care, interprofessional collaboration, and medication optimization in a 30-bed facility with diverse services.

The Pharmacist will assess treatments, provide drug information to health professionals, monitor therapy, and maintain workload records, contributing to safe, effective, and economical drug use.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy and current licensure with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia. Completion of a Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program or a combination of at least one year of hospital experience and advanced education courses. Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position provides pharmacy services to patients in Northern Health. As a member of an interprofessional team, this position assesses and recommends individualized treatments. Acts as the primary resource for drug information, education and provides expert advice to health care professionals. Monitors drug prescribing, drug distribution and drug therapy to ensure safe, effective, rational, legal, and economic use of drugs. Maintains workload records and statistics.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital

is a 30-bed facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with Medical Imaging, Laboratory, ICU, ER and Maternity. Services include:

• Human Caring and Relationship Centered Practice: Ability to promote patient-centred care that demonstrates care for and with patients and families, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, patient advocacy and social justice concerns.
• Management: Demonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives and establish priorities. Manages time and resources, implements activities to promote cooperation among the interprofessional team and collaborates across disciplines.
• Leadership: Promotes staff morale, engagement and empowerment. Demonstrates creative planning for change and innovation, implementation of NH policies or other protocols, and ongoing professional development of self and others.
• Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and a commitment to excellence in the provision of patient care.
• Equipment: Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Cerner and Windows based programs. Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools. Demonstrated ability in the use of e‑mail and word processing. Ability to operate other related equipment as required in the specific practice area.
