Job summary

Northern Health seeks a Registered Nurse - Perinatal to deliver obstetrical care for intra, postpartum and high‑risk antepartum patients at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital. You will work with an inter‑professional team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in a patient‑centered model, guided by BCCNM standards and evidence‑informed practice.

Shift rotations include evenings and nights (07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00).

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Completion of a recognized Perinatal Nursing specialty program.
• One year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Current CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certificate.
• Current Fetal Health Surveillance Course Certificate.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the Registered Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family centered care model.

The Registered Nurse - Perinatal, working collaboratively with the inter‑professional team, plans and provides direct patient care to obstetrical patients during the intra, postpartum and high‑risk antepartum periods and other assigned patients by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
