Job description

Translational Research in Oncology (TRIO) is a global academic clinical research organization dedicated to advancing translational cancer research in the clinical trial setting. Our passionate team is committed to providing cancer treatments of the future to the world of today.

TRIO is seeking a Clinical Outsourcing Unit Manager to join our Finance team. This position reports to the Senior Clinical Outsourcing Unit Manager and is home-based in Canada.

Responsibilities:
  • Supports the design and maintenance of Clinical Outsourcing SOPs, activity trackers, and tools (budget templates, review tools, etc.).
  • Provides oversight of TPO budgets, including monthly reviews.
  • Forecasts budget reconciliation and negotiates change orders under supervisor guidance, ensuring compliance with SOPs related to contracts and budgets with TPOs.
  • Participates in negotiation of change orders and performs budget amendments as directed.
  • Reviews billing information for compliance and accuracy before submission to finance.
  • Negotiates Master Service Agreements and creates standard budget grids with TPOs under supervision.
  • Performs quality control on TPO files, resolves issues with COU Specialists, and contacts involved parties for additional information when necessary.

This position is not a people manager and has no direct reports.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or Life Sciences is preferred but combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with Clinical Trials and knowledge of GCP is highly desirable.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
  • Ability to take initiative, be flexible, exercise good judgment, and communicate effectively with all management levels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to engage external parties.
  • Legally authorized to work in the country.
