Job summary

AVI Nanaimo Community Health Centre seeks a Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator to guide nursing care, mentor staff, and develop educational programs. The role combines direct patient care with teaching, supervision, and quality improvement within AVI’s multidisciplinary team.

The CNLE will collaborate with the Nurse Manager and leadership to strengthen trauma-informed, client-centered services across primary care, HIV/HCV, and harm reduction programs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school of nursing with a baccalaureate in Nursing.
• Current practicing registration as an RN with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Experience in harm reduction and primary care settings.
• Leadership experience within a clinical education/leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical nursing care within AVI Nanaimo Community Health Centre.
• Develop and deliver on-site education and mentoring for nursing staff.
• Lead and supervise nursing teams, ensuring trauma-informed, client-centered care.
• Collaborate with Nurse Manager and leadership for policy and practice improvements.
