This is a Regular Full-Time Role

Type: Replacement

Clinical Manager – Specialized Medicine (Cardiac & Chronic Disease Focus)

Be part of the future of ambulatory care. At Women’s College Hospital (WCH), we’re revolutionizing how health care is delivered. As a Clinical Manager in our Specialized Medicine team, you’ll lead services that support patients living with complex and chronic conditions that include cardiac and respiratory disease, osteoporosis, rheumatology, gastroenterological conditions, and more.

Reporting to the Director, Specialized Medicine & Mental Health and working collaboratively with the Medical Directors and Chief of Medicine, you’ll oversee clinical operations across our Cardiology Clinics, Cardiac Rehab Program, Respirology Clinic, Rheumatology Clinic, Allergy Clinic, Gastroenterology service (external Endoscopy), and Osteoporosis Programs—making a meaningful impact on patients navigating their ambulatory care journeys.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead a team delivering care in key chronic disease programs, with a focus on cardiac health and rehabilitation.
  • Champion patient safety, satisfaction, and high-quality clinical outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, program leads, and teams across the hospital to innovate and improve services.
  • Drive program improvements and new initiatives, always with a lens on access, equity, and patient-centered care.
  • Support a healthy team culture through effective coaching, development, and day-to-day leadership.
  • Steward resources wisely ensuring clinics run efficiently, safely, and sustainably.
What You’ll Do: Expanded Summary of Duties

As Clinical Manager, you will lead and coordinate the daily operations of several high-impact ambulatory clinics, with a strong emphasis on cardiac health and chronic disease management. Your work will focus on improving patient access, safety, and experience across the following areas: Cardiac Clinics, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Respirology, Allergy, Gastroenterology (external Endoscopy), Rheumatology, and Osteoporosis Programs. In this role, you will:

  • Support high-performing clinical teams to deliver safe, timely, and patient-centered care to individuals managing chronic and complex conditions, many of whom require ongoing diagnostic support and coordinated specialist care.
  • Promote best practices in ambulatory care, working with interprofessional teams to continuously improve service delivery and align with leading clinical standards.
  • Lead operational planning and resource management—including clinic flow, staffing, equipment, and space—to ensure efficient and responsive care environments.
  • Collaborate with medical directors, the Chief of Medicine, and other clinical leaders to identify opportunities for new or enhanced services that better meet patient needs and reduce wait times.
  • Advance patient experience initiatives, creating feedback loops for service improvement and fostering a compassionate, inclusive clinic culture.
  • Manage human resources functions including hiring, scheduling, coaching, and performance development, in collaboration with HR and union partners.
  • Champion safety and risk mitigation, actively identifying and addressing clinical or operational risks, and supporting a culture of continuous quality improvement.
  • Oversee budget development and financial stewardship for programs under your leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals.
  • Contribute to hospital-wide initiatives related to strategic planning, digital transformation, patient engagement, and health equity.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic ambulatory setting and is passionate about improving health outcomes for patients with both acute and chronic illnesses.

The responsibilities described above are representative and are not to be construed as all-inclusive.

What You Bring
  • Clinical or health administration background. Undergrad required; Masters preferred.
  • Strong preference for regulated health professionals, in good standing with their regulatory College.
  • Previous leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • A passion for innovation and patient-centered ambulatory care.

  • Proven utilization management and capacity building skills.
  • Leadership experience in diagnostic settings (e.g. cardiac, pulmonary, or bone density) is an asset.
  • Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital.
  • This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all.
