Job description

Position Summary
We have a permanent part-time (0.6fte) Clinical Dietitian opening in Vernon, B.C. This position works Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 08:00-16:00, and works as part of a small team of registered dietitians supporting acute care. Restricted Activity A, along with experience with enteral and parenteral nutrition is considered an asset, or a willingness to work towards this with employer support.

About the position:

The Clinical Dietitian is a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and provides nutrition care and support to individuals, patients, residents and groups according to established policies, standards and procedures. Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Clinical Dietitian provides nutrition services through: nutrition assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams; acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health. The Clinical Dietitian provides input to the Professional Practice Leader by participating in the development of nutrition practice guidelines and procedures; research and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the facility and program. The Clinical Dietitian liaises and advises food service staff on patient/resident care issues and menu development.

Qualifications
Successful completion of an accredited hospital based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility).
Full registration as a Registered Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
One year of clinical nutrition experience in a health care environment preferred.
Valid BC Driver’s License.
