Job summary

Sinai Health's Mount Sinai Fertility Program is seeking a Clinical Coordinator, Fertility to support daily operations, staff scheduling and quality initiatives within the nursing leadership team. This role reports to the Clinical Director and collaborates across the Mount Sinai Fertility network to optimize patient care.

The Clinical Coordinator will participate in program development, budget monitoring and staff development, ensuring safe, patient-centered care across Toronto locations.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CNO-approved Baccalaureate Nursing program.
  • Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in good standing.
  • Minimum 3 years of related nursing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support philosophy, goals, objectives and standards of the Department of Nursing.
  • Schedule nursing staff and service personnel to ensure coverage.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Director on budget and product management; implement new products and technologies.
  • Lead quality and safety initiatives and risk management; promote evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in Occupational Health and Safety assessments and Quality Management related to safety.
  • Support recruitment, performance management and staff development.
  • Contribute to development and evaluation of department processes and improvements.

Sinai Health is looking for a Clinical Coordinator, Fertility. As a member of the nursing leadership team, the Clinical Coordinator is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Mount Sinai Fertility Program, reports directly to the Manager. As a key member of the nursing leadership team, the Clinical Coordinator will participate in and support the development and implementation of departmental goals and quality and safety programs; professional development initiatives, performance management and recruitment/selection process, and program development. In collaboration with the MSF Leadership team, she/he is responsible for staff scheduling, payroll submissions, and day-to-day operations and staff support.

Three locations provide convenient access to our services: Toronto, Vaughan and Mississauga. We offer a wide range of fertility treatments including: Cycle Monitoring, Timed Intercourse, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing (PGT), Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), Medically Indicated Fertility Preservation, Egg Freezing and Sperm Banking. Our interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, lab staff, genetic counsellors and administrative staff have been recognized nationally for their academic excellence and field-leading research in fertility science. Our fertility doctors are Royal College certified specialists in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). With an average of 3,400 treatment cycles annually, our program delivers comprehensive reproductive care at scale while maintaining individualized attention to each patient's circumstances.

In this role you will:
  • Supportand maintainthe philosophy, goals, objectives and standards of the Department of Nursing
  • Supportteam leaders of each site with issues regarding patient flow, patient complaints, risk issues, supply and/or equipment needs
  • Ordersupplies and equipment as approved by the Clinical Director
  • ScheduleRegistered Nurse, phlebotomy, service assistants, sonographers, pharmacy technicians and for ensuring short-term and long-term staffing needs
  • Ensurethe clinical director is up to date on any critical issues
  • Workcollaboratively with members of the leadership team to ensure improvements in patient care through the application of standards of practice, research and evidence-based practice; promotedevelopment of critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Collaboratewith the Clinical Director to achieve a balanced budget and to ensure fiscally responsible product management; workwith staff and others in the implementation of new products and technologies
  • Professional development initiatives, performance management of staff nurses, recruitment and hiring and facilitates return to work plans
  • Development, implementation and evaluation of quality and safety initiatives
  • Nursing Department and unit-based committees such as the Unit Council, Magnet and Accreditation
  • Process improvement activities for the units
  • In collaboration with the Clinical Director, participatein Occupational Health and Safety Unit assessments and interventions, and in Quality and Risk Management as it relates to safety reporting and managing patient/family concerns
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required
Job Requirements

Mandatory

  • Graduate of a CNO-approved Baccalaureate Nursing (RN) program
  • Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • 3 years of related nursing experience
  • Applicants with proven equivalent recent and related education and experience may also be considered
Preferred
  • Membership in professional nursing organizations and evidence of continuing education
  • Previous leadership experience (e.g. formal leadership role, team leader or resource nurse)
  • Recent nursing experience in Fertility/Women's & Infants Health
Skills and Knowledge
  • Demonstrated competence with clinical/system computer applications (i.e. Cerner, eivf); Ability to utilize information technology
  • Demonstrated knowledge of patient and family centered care and customer service principles
  • Demonstrated evidence of mentoring skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and customer services skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent decision making, problem recognition, problem solving skills, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

This is a Temporary contract for up to Twelve [12] months.
