Alberta Health Services is seeking a Clinical Coding Specialist (CCS) to review clinical docs, assign ICD-10-CA/CCI codes, and ensure data accuracy in Alberta health records.

You will participate in data quality initiatives, manage coding tasks, and adhere to CIHI rules, with a provincially mandated coding proficiency test prior to interview. Location negotiable within Alberta with a northern allowance where applicable.

Formación

• Completion of diploma from an accredited Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) program.
• Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).
• Knowledge of current Canadian Coding Standards and DAD/NACRS Abstracting Manuals.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently with strong organizational, time management, analytical, and technical skills.

Responsabilidades

• Review clinical documentation and apply diagnoses, interventions and coding conventions to ensure accuracy.
• Remediate edits and warnings and identify issues in patient encounters and data.
• Run and reconcile reports and ensure confidentiality and compliance with privacy policies.
