Job summary

Providence Care Hospital is seeking a Clinical Analyst to support implementation and ongoing operation of clinical information systems. This role analyzes end user requirements, documents workflows, and assists in building the electronic patient record with staff education and training materials.

The position requires nursing education/licensure, strong process redesign experience in healthcare, and expert use of the electronic patient record systems.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Registered Practical Nursing Diploma, or equivalent education and experience in a regulated healthcare discipline.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice with the applicable regulatory College in Ontario.
• Minimum two years of recent experience supporting process redesign and/or change management in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Team Lead to conduct the analysis, design, database configuration, testing, training and support of the electronic patient record used by nurses, physicians and allied health providers.
• Supports the team in integrating the electronic patient record with operations of departments and drives system acceptance.
• Assists in applying project management methodology and governance processes to clinical information projects.
• Facilitates sessions to achieve outcomes and communicates recommendations to teams and committees.
• Engages with clinical areas to document workflows and identify process gaps and solutions.

The Clinical Analyst is an integral team member supporting the implementation and ongoing operational support activities of the organization’s clinical information systems. This support includes activities such as analyzing, assessing and documenting end user requirements; carrying out workflows and process redesign activities, making recommendations with respect to related policies and procedures, and assisting in the development and build of the electronic patient record and other clinical technology support. The Clinical Analyst is involved in the development and delivery of education and training materials, courses and curriculum as an expert user of the system.

Education & Experience:

• Registered Practical Nursing Diploma, OR equivalent education and experience in a regulated healthcare discipline may be considered
• Current, unrestricted license to practice with the applicable regulatory College in Ontario
• Minimum two years of recent experience supporting process redesign and/or change management in a healthcare setting in support of clinical staff (e.g. nursing, allied health, physicians, etc.)
• Demonstrated expert user of Lumeo (Cerner Millenium) within the last year
• Experience providing Super User support, at-the-elbow assistance, and workflow guidance to clinical staff, preferred

Position Duties&Responsibilities:

• Supports the Team Lead to conduct the analysis, design, database configuration, testing, training and support of the electronic patient record to be used by nurses, physicians and allied health providers within Providence Care
• Supports the team in integrating the capabilities of the electronic patient record with the operations of the organizational departments and is instrumental in gaining system acceptance and ownership within the organizational departments
• Assists the team in applying project management methodology, associated project life cycle and the project governance processes to the clinical information projects
• Facilitates sessions of varying nature to achieve desired outcomes, and communicates and presents recommendations to various teams, working groups and committees
• Engages with the clinical areas to document workflows and identify process gaps based on clinical needs and assist in identifying appropriate solutions
