Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our clinical team in an ambulatory clinic setting. You will assist providers, gather patient information, and communicate with patients through phone and in-person visits.

The role emphasizes collaboration, accuracy, and patient privacy, with emphasis on delivering high-quality care. Minimum qualifications include a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience, BLS certification, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of Medical Assistant Experience or a current RN/LPN license.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
  • Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information relevant to the visit and condition.
  • Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.
  • Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow-through are key components.
