Title: Climate Change Engineer Trainee - Mississauga
Position Summary

Hatch’s Climate Change Business Practice seeks an Engineer Trainee interested in climate change, decarbonization, and climate technologies. Reporting to a Lead in our Climate Change Practice, you will support local and global projects from our Mississauga office. The role involves developing decarbonization solutions for complex industrial processes, including process electrification, green hydrogen, carbon capture, and biofuels.

You Will
  • Contribute to studies on climate change and decarbonization technologies.
  • Assist in design calculations, equipment specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Evaluate low-emission process options and materials of construction.
  • Participate in equipment design reviews, risk assessments, and process hazard studies.
  • Prepare technical reports, contribute to cost estimates, and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Develop GHG profiles and perform decarbonization assessments.
  • Support techno-economic studies and process diagram development.
  • Assist in proposal preparation and business development activities.
Education and Experience
  • Working towards graduation in 2025 or recent graduate with a Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Active involvement in extracurricular or volunteer activities.
  • Previous co-op or summer work in process or mechanical engineering is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites, including remote locations.

  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and business principles.
  • Quick learner, adaptable, and collaborative team player.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
