Job summary

Desjardins invites applications for the Climate Change Advisor position within the Climate Transition Department of the Sustainable Development Office. The role involves shaping priorities and methodologies for climate initiatives, while developing roadmaps, monitoring targets, and supporting reporting across business lines.

A bachelor’s in a relevant field and at least two years’ climate experience are required, with French and English language proficiency essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, sustainable development, finance or another relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in climate-related roles.
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Practical experience in the financial sector or in consulting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing climate strategies and defining GHG emission reduction targets, ideally within the financial sector context.
  • Experience in climate risk and scenario analysis.
  • Experience in climate-related reporting and greenhouse gas emissions measurement.
  • Knowledge of French is required.
  • Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to duties or work tools or interactions with English-speaking partners, members or clients.

Job description

Required

As a Climate Change Advisor, you will be part of the Climate Transition Department within the Desjardins Sustainable Development Office. You will help define Desjardins Group's priorities and initiatives pertaining to climate change, as well as the methodologies and standards needed to implement and track them. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Actively participate in projects and initiatives related to your field (developing roadmaps and recommendations based on the organization's priorities and objectives, monitoring and updating targets and commitments, risk analyses, etc.)
  • Conduct research, carry out preliminary analysis, and develop the initial outlines of tools and work processes that require a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the business lines and organization
  • Contribute to climate change-related reporting
  • Support the more experienced professionals in your unit
  • Monitor new trends in climate change and biodiversity

Temporary position for 12 months
