Role Overview

Our Toronto office is currently recruiting for a Client Relations Analyst, reporting to the Client Relationship Partner. This role supports the firm’s Client Listening Program by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing client feedback to identify growth and cross‑selling opportunities. The Client Relations Analyst also advances firm‑wide and practice‑level business development initiatives informed by both individual client insights and broader feedback trends, working closely with multiple practice groups to help attract, grow, and retain clients across diverse industries and sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with Business Development, Marketing, Finance, and IT teams on firm‑wide strategic initiatives related to client management and service delivery.
  • Partnering with industry groups and client relationship lawyers to advance business development opportunities informed by client needs and priorities.
  • Independently capturing, organizing, and synthesizing client data from meetings to support strategic growth recommendations.
  • Extracting and analyzing data from systems such as 3E, InterAction, and CapitalIQ to produce business intelligence reports and supporting materials.
  • Participating in client interviews alongside the Client Relationship Partner and manage action items and follow‑ups with practice groups through completion.
  • Collecting, transforming, and synthesizing client feedback to identify key trends, growth opportunities, and cross‑selling potential.
  • Leveraging data insights to collaborate with industry groups in expanding and strengthening client relationships.
Practice / Industry Group Strategic Planning, Execution, and Support
  • Developing a strong understanding of the firm’s key practices, industry groups, lead client teams, and relationship structures.
  • Partnering closely with lead lawyers to develop, implement, and manage select practice and industry group business plans, identifying opportunities to elevate group profiles and cross‑sell services.
  • Supporting the identification and evaluation of new business opportunities and client targets.
Research

The successful candidate must have the following education, experience and/or demonstrated skills:
  • Minimum 3+ years of progressive client relations, business development, or marketing experience within a law firm.
  • Proven experience managing client intake processes, including researching client organizations and identifying cross‑selling opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with client relationship lawyers to advance business development initiatives.
  • Experience supporting or managing a formal client feedback or client listening program.
  • Strong ability to collect, synthesize, and summarize qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategic decision‑making.
  • Undergraduate degree, with additional relevant education or equivalent professional experience considered an asset.
  • Experience integrating qualitative client feedback with quantitative KPIs to assess relationship growth and the impact of client interviews.
  • Experience with enterprise CRM and analytics platforms, including InterAction, CapitalIQ, and 3E.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities, including ETL processes, pivot tables, and Power Query.
  • Experience with basic data visualization tools to illustrate trends and insights (e.g., Power BI or Tableau).
  • Proactive, strategic self‑starter with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities and drive initiatives forward.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
