Job summary

Boast is seeking a Client Delivery Manager to lead R&D tax credit claims for a portfolio of Canadian and U.S. clients. This highly strategic, client-facing role sits at the center of delivery, advisory, operations, and relationship management.

You'll guide clients through complex claims and audits, oversee cross-functional delivery work, and ensure high-quality, actionable outcomes using a mix of expertise and AI-enabled technology. This hybrid role offers ownership and growth.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in R&D tax credits, government incentives, grant funding, or related advisory environment.
  • Experience managing complex client portfolios and leading concurrent claim delivery engagements in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong client management and communication skills, including ability to navigate competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of claim strategy, audit processes, compliance considerations, and delivery risk management.
  • Experience supporting clients through audits, government reviews, and documentation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of client accounts, owning successful claim delivery, client engagement, and long-term account health.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by guiding claim strategy, coordinating successful claim delivery, and helping clients navigate audits and claim requirements.
  • Lead multiple concurrent claim engagements, balancing timelines, priorities, risks, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Partner with Technical Solutions Managers and internal teams to ensure claims are delivered accurately, efficiently, and with high quality.
  • Review technical and financial documentation and help clients maximize eligible claim opportunities.
  • Lead clients through audit processes, including audit strategy, documentation coordination, government communications, and interview preparation.
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Identify risks, process improvement opportunities, and operational efficiencies across the claim lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Pre-Sales teams to improve the client experience, support platform evolution, and strengthen delivery processes.
  • Stay current on government incentive programs, industry trends, and evolving claim requirements.

About the Role

As a Client Delivery Manager, you’ll lead the successful delivery of R&D tax credit claims for a portfolio of companies across Canada and the U.S.

This is a highly strategic, client-facing role that sits at the centre of delivery, advisory, operations, and relationship management. You’ll guide clients through complex claim and audit processes, oversee cross-functional delivery work, help teams navigate competing priorities, and ensure claims are delivered with quality, accuracy, and confidence.

You’ll work closely with Technical Solutions Managers, Product, Sales, and leadership teams to continuously improve how work gets delivered at scale through a combination of deep expertise, operational excellence, and AI-enabled technology.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys balancing people, projects, and strategy, and wants meaningful ownership in a company modernizing how businesses access R&D funding.

Location: Calgary, Alberta
In-person collaboration: This is a hybrid role with occasional in-person work.
Compensation:$100,000 - $120,000 annually plus up to a 15% discretionary bonus

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of client accounts, owning successful claim delivery, client engagement, and long-term account health.

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in R&D tax credits, government incentives, grant funding, or a related advisory environment.
  • Experience managing complex client portfolios and leading concurrent claim delivery engagements in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Strong client management and communication skills, including the ability to navigate competing priorities and challenging conversations.
  • Strong understanding of claim strategy, audit processes, compliance considerations, and delivery risk management.
  • Experience supporting clients through audits, government reviews, and technical or financial documentation processes.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA, Asana, GitHub, ClickUp, Linear, and Notion; accounting systems such as QuickBooks, FreshBooks, and Oracle NetSuite; and payroll systems such as Ceridian, Wagepoint, and QuickBooks - or similar tools and best practices within each system.
  • Strong organizational skills, business judgment, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally within high-growth or evolving environments.
  • Experience in STEM or supporting technical, software, engineering, or innovation-focused organizations is considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings, conferences, or team collaboration.
