Job summary

Cool Aid is hiring a Client Case Worker in Victoria, BC, to connect residents with housing, employment, substance abuse treatment, medical, and mental health services. You will work with the program manager to plan and implement client programs, and keep detailed case notes and files.

The role requires experience with diverse populations facing multiple barriers, including substance use, mental health concerns, and systemic racism. Union BCGEU; full-time, temporary.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in a related human or social services field.
  • Two years of direct service experience in a program with:
  • Client-centered case management, creating and implementing case plans, collecting and reporting program data and maintaining client files, program development and facilitation, linking individuals to housing and treatment programs, demonstrating ability to develop effective relationships following harm reduction principles.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as access point for residents into housing, employment, substance abuse treatment, medical and mental health systems.
  • Plan, develop and implement client programming in collaboration with the program manager.
  • Provide ongoing client case management updates to the program manager.
  • Maintain accurate and complete client files and notes.

Job description

The Client Case Worker acts as an access point forresidents into the broader spectrum of housing, employment, substance abusetreatment, medical, and community mental health systems in Victoria andelsewhere. The Client Case Workerworks in consultation with the program manager to plan,develop, and implement client programming and activities. This role is expectedto provide the program manager with ongoing client case management updates, andto maintain accurate and complete client files and notes.

To succeed, you will have an excellent understanding of theissues faced by our client group. This includes experience working withindividuals from diverse backgrounds who face multiple barriers, such assubstance use, mental health concerns, low incomes, and negative impacts ofcolonialism and racism.

Qualifications

  • Degreeor diploma in a related human or social services field.
  • Two(2) years of direct service experience working in a program with:
  • Client-centeredcase management.
  • Creatingand implementing case plans.
  • Collectingand reporting program data and maintaining client files.
  • Programdevelopment and facilitation.
  • Linkingindividuals to various housing and treatment programs.
  • Demonstratedability to develop effective relationships following harm reductionprinciples.

Requirements

  • Successfulcompletion of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General CriminalRecord Check.
  • Class5 Driver's License with a clear driver's abstract.

Job Information

Hourly Wage Rate:$32.02 - $35.52.

Shift Time: 7:00 am to 5:45 pm.

Weekly Hours: 40.

Job Type:Full-Time, Temporary until the return of the incumbent.
