Job description

CLERK/STENO – SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAMS (ELEMENTARY)

Temporary

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for three Clerk/Steno positions for the 2025 Summer Learning Program. Reporting to the Summer Learning Program Coordinator and Site Supervisor, the successful candidates will provide administrative assistance for the programs.

This year, the Summer Learning Programs will include both in-person and online learning formats, and will focus on areas of reading, math, multilingual learners, and special education. All educational staff, including clerk/steno positions, will be expected to work in-person. Programs will be located at West Bayfield Elementary (Barrie), Worsley Elementary (Wasaga Beach), and Regent Park (Orillia). Interviews will be held as soon as possible after the posting closing date.

Salary Range: $23.09 - $26.94 per hour, plus vacation pay

Date / Hours: · July 3 & 4 2025 (8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m) TO BE ORGANIZED WITH CURRENT SCHOOL

-July 28, 2025 (8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – 6 hours per day for 1 day)

· July 7 to 25, 2025 (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – 4 hours per day for 15 days)

All positions will be available subject to budget approval and student enrolment.

Qualifications:

Required: Secondary school diploma. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to follow directions and work as a team member. Strong organizational, secretarial, word processing, and computer technology skills, including MS Word, Outlook, as well as comfort/confidence supporting staff, students, and families within in-person and virtual learning formats (e.g., Google Classroom). Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred: Knowledge of Simcoe County District School Board Policies, Administrative Procedures Memoranda and Numbered Memoranda. Knowledge of board approved software (e.g., PowerSchool student information system, Google Classroom, etc.).

Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees,
