Overview

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for performing a range of duties professionally and accurately. The role involves delivering excellent customer service, fostering loyalty, and contributing to an engaging environment for both employees and customers.

Job Responsibilities

1. Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, SOPs, Health and Safety policies, and corporate initiatives.
2. Provide excellent customer service to meet customer needs.
3. Maintain a clean and presentable work area.
4. Process grocery orders efficiently.
5. Execute merchandising and promotional programs.
6. Perform retail floor maintenance.
7. Maintain back shop area.
8. Receive and verify warehouse orders.
9. Promote products to increase store sales.
10. Assist in training junior staff.
11. Manage stock ordering and receiving according to inventory procedures.
12. Control department shrinkage.
13. Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Ontario-Specific Duties

1. Handle receiving duties including unloading and verifying shipments.
2. Tag and document pallets and complete receiving paperwork.
3. Compare packing slips with goods and input data into SAP system.
4. Report unsafe equipment or conditions.
5. Communicate effectively with management and staff about shipments.
