Responsibilities
- Applying payments via various methods: cheque, credit card, online payments, EFT, pre-authorized payments (PAP).
- Posting payments to the general ledger.
- Contacting customers to obtain credit card information.
- Creating credit card tokens in third-party databases.
- Processing monthly PAP files.
- Following up with customers on declined payments.
- Reconciling payments and customer accounts.
- Communicating with internal and external customers in writing and verbally.
Cross-training Opportunities
- Reviewing credit applications.
- Pulling credit reports from agencies and financial institutions.
- Recommending and documenting credit approvals for managerial review.
- Creating invoices and credits.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in payment application.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective time management skills.
- Proactive approach to process improvement.
