Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a Clerk to support the Interprofessional Team at Stewart Health Centre. You will perform reception duties, answer inquiries, and assist with administrative tasks under the Site Coordinator's supervision.

The role requires Grade 12 with health-care office experience, 50 wpm typing, and strong confidentiality. You will work Monday to Friday, 12:00–17:00, at Stewart Health Centre in BC.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 and 1 year health-care office experience.
  • Typing speed 50 wpm.

  • Effective communication in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reception duties and answer inquiries related to programs and policies.

Job description

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Clerk to support the Interprofessional Team department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Site Coordinator or designate, this position performs a variety of administrative support functions; performs reception duties and answers general inquiries related to programs and policies for Stewart Health Centre.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Monday to Friday, Days, 12:00 to 17:00

Qualfications
  • Grade 12 plus one (1) year of office experience in a health care setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Able to type 50 wpm.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to liaise with other departments in the Health Centre.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients and have an interest in working with small children and their families.
  • Experience with office equipment such as photocopier, fax machine, scanner and calculator.
  • Computer training and experience; working knowledge of related computer programs.
  • Accurate word processing skills with at least 50 wpm.
  • Physical ability to carry out duties and operate related equipment.
