Job summary

Westbow Group of Companies is seeking a temporary cleaner for a 2–3 month contract to help maintain the cleanliness of a residential building. You will be proactive, build relationships with residents, and work a flexible schedule on Tue, Thu and Sat from 9 am to 5 pm.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently while following safety guidelines. A valid driver’s license is preferred and WHMIS knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a residential or commercial building cleaning role.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.
• Ability to lift heavy items up to 25 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of WHMIS is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning in common areas such as lobbies, hallways, staircases and elevators.
• Ensure cleanliness of lobby, gym and amenity rooms.
• Collect and dispose of garbage following proper waste disposal procedures.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, restocking supplies as needed.
• Report maintenance issues to site manager.
• Provide friendly customer service to residents.
• Maintain inventory for cleaning supplies.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE as required.

About The Role

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Cleaner is responsible for helping maintain the cleanliness of our building. You are proactive and take pride in keeping our residential building clean. You enjoy working hard and building relationships with residents.

This is a temporary 2–3-month contract with the possibility of extension based on business needs.

Hourly Page Range: $18.00-$21.00/hr.

Ideal Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday - 9 am to 5 pm (Flexible with other options for the right candidate).

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and mopping in common areas including lobbies, hallways, staircases, and elevators
• Ensure common areas are well maintained such as lobby, gym, and amenity rooms
• Collect and dispose of garbage from designated areas while following proper waste disposal procedures
• Clean and sanitize common area restrooms, restocking paper products and hand soap as needed
• Report maintenance issues or repairs of common areas to site manager
• Provide friendly customer service to building residents
• Maintain inventory for cleaning supplies
• Proactively look for areas of improvement in given tasks
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and residents
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary

What We’re Looking For

• 1 year experience in a residential or commercial building cleaning role
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products
• Ability to lift heavy items up to 25 lbs
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of WHMIS is an asset
