Job summary

BEST - For a Cleaner World in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Heavy Duty Custodian to keep building spaces clean, presentable, and inviting. You will maintain common areas, washrooms, and perform floor care across shifts.

Shifts run 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, or 11pm-7am. Candidates must pass a background check, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and safely operate cleaning equipment. WHMIS is an asset for this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely operate riding, walk-behind, and portable cleaning equipment.
• WHMIS Certification is an asset.
• Physical stamina and mobility to reach, kneel and bend; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to pass Canadian Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Clean all hard floor surfaces and carpeted areas; perform extraction and surface cleaning.
• Collect and remove garbage from drop points to a garbage compactor.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and materials in safe, sanitary condition.
• Monitor and report repairs or replacements as needed.

JOB CLASS:

JOB OVERVIEW:

You will be responsible for making sure your building looks clean, presentable, and inviting at all times. Some of the duties and responsibilities include maintaining common areas, and washrooms, mopping, sweeping, and wiping down the glass and other surfaces.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Cleaning of all hard floor surfaces, carpet extraction, cleaning of surfaces
• Collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage compactor
• Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
• Monitor and report any repairs or required replacements

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must be able to safety operate cleaning equipment and machinery, including ride‑on, walk‑behind and portable extractor machines
• WHMIS Certification is an asset
• Physical stamina and mobility including the ability to reach, kneel and bend
• Ability to lift, push and pull required load (up to 50lbs)

• Ability to pass Canadian Background Check
