Program Overview – Building Services, Housing & Homelessness Services Building Services handles preventative and emergency maintenance at WoodGreen properties, including janitorial, grounds keeping, and preparing residential suites for new occupants. The program supervises and carries out upgrades to offices and properties, supports WoodGreen programs, and ensures compliance with codes and standards.
What You Will Do

  • Perform routine and emergency janitorial tasks, including rubbish removal, grounds keeping, floor maintenance, and cleaning of washrooms, stairwells, windows, garbage chute rooms, laundry rooms, and elevators.
  • Manage garbage bins and coordinate pick-up with the City of Toronto or contracted waste management services.
  • Operate machinery such as garden tractors and floor buffers.
  • Clean public facilities and offices, vacuum, and mop assigned areas.
  • Lift supplies and equipment; respond to emergencies.
  • Support other departments and set up meeting rooms for events.
  • Maintain janitorial equipment and carry building keys and a cellular phone.
  • Adhere to all applicable codes, standards, and policies.
  • Walk and stand for extended periods.
What You Bring to the Team
  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience in commercial or residential cleaning.
What Will Set You Apart
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks daily.
  • Experience managing keys and security systems.
  • Ability to operate janitorial machinery.
  • Follow policies, schedules, and directions.
