JOB DESCRIPTION

Midland Courier is currently seeking a Courier Owner Operator Driver based in Dartmouth, NS Terminal. The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and exceptional customer service skills.

Main Role:

1. Manage time, pick up and receive courier/packages, and ensure accurate and timely delivery to our clients.
2. Provide enthusiastic, positive attitude and exceptional customer service.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM

What We Offer:

• Competitive hourly rate of $46.24.
• Excess KM Supplement of $0.408/km over 105 km/day on normal delivery routes.
• Fuel purchased at authorized company fuel stops will be charged at $0.408 per liter.
• Uniform allowance of $367.50 per year.
• $200 safety bonus per quarter if qualified.
• Ongoing training and advancement opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Follow pickup and delivery procedures.
2. Load and unload the straight truck safely to avoid damaging packages.
3. Accurately process daily pickup and delivery records, ensuring timely deliveries.
4. Maintain company equipment standards.
5. Communicate effectively with customers.
6. Drive and operate equipment (e.g., hand cart) safely, following traffic laws and safety procedures.
7. Report incidents, accidents, injuries, or damages.
8. Support transport operations as needed.
9. Work hours may vary depending on business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Class 5 driver’s license with at least 2 years of safe commercial driving experience.
• Clean driver’s abstract and criminal record search.
• Reliable straight truck with a rear lift, no older than 8 years, in good condition.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. with proper equipment.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and safety consciousness.
• Must brand the vehicle with Midland logos in green.
