Birch Mountain Enterprises - Class 3 Operator Position

Birch Mountain Enterprises is seeking experienced Class 3 Operators. Candidates must be TDG knowledgeable, with a minimum of 3 years of manual transmission experience and previous fluid hauling experience, including processed water, sewer, vac, and tanker operations.

Job Summary

This role involves the safe operation of various Class 3 units from our Fort McKay shop. Candidates should be mechanically inclined and physically capable of working in all weather conditions. Preference will be given to those with prior industrial sector experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate multiple types of units (water, sewer, vacuum, steam truck, tanker) safely and efficiently
• Perform physical tasks and work in all weather conditions
• Complete daily documentation, including logbooks, work orders, risk assessments, and inspections
• Follow instructions from Dispatch or Supervisors
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned trucks
• Attend safety meetings and adhere to safety regulations
• Operate tools and equipment to company standards
• Keep training current
• Follow TDG and WHMIS standards and regulations
• Seek continuous improvement opportunities
• Provide customer-focused service

Qualifications

• Valid Class 3 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
• At least 3 years of experience, including up to 18-speed manual Class 1 or 3 equipment
• Experience operating water, vacuum, hydro, or combo units
• Drive experience is an asset
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification
• Additional certifications such as TDG, daily trip inspections, hours of service, weights and dimensions, cargo securement, WHMIS, and H2S Alive are assets
• Must pass BME driver’s evaluation, drug and alcohol screening, and fitness for duty assessments
