Job summary

The Class 3/1 Driver role with GFL Environmental Inc. involves visiting client sites to safely collect and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste, using TDG knowledge to label containers and prepare transport docs. You will prioritize safety, professionalism, and teamwork in everyday duties.

You'll operate equipment, document mileage and loads, and communicate with a team of qualified professionals while upholding regulatory standards and quality service.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brakes and a clean Commercial Driving Abstract; Class 1 would be an asset.
• Must be able to operate vehicles with a manual transmission.
• Safety tickets such as First Aid/CPR, CSTS, TDG are assets.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate all required equipment.
• Represent GFL on client sites and look for ways to expand services.
• Ensure all assigned equipment is properly loaded and maintained.
• Keep accurate drivers’ logs as required to document mileage, hours and material hauled.
• Communicate effectively with a team of qualified professionals.
• Participate in safety meetings, last minute risk assessments and job hazard assessments.
• Identify and classify all types of hazardous waste.
• Handle drum dollies and pallet jacks for the transportation and loading of materials.
• Other duties as required.

Job description

Position Summary

The Class 3/1 Driver will be relied upon to visit various client sites to collect and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. As a professional driver with a safe driving record, you will utilize TDG knowledge and experience to assist with labeling containers and preparing transport documentation. The chosen individual will perform this diverse range of activities with a focus on safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

Requirements
