Position Summary

We are looking for a professional and safety-oriented Class 1 Owner Operator - Tanker. You will have the ability to work well with minimal supervision and have a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks promptly and safely. You must have a passion for driving safely and defensively on the roads, for yourself and for others. Primary responsibility is to safely transport liquid or gaseous cargo, such as chemicals, petroleum, or hazardous materials, to specified destinations. Duties include conducting pre-trip inspections of the tanker vehicle to ensure it is in optimal working condition, as well as loading and unloading cargo following established safety procedures.

• Competitive mileage rate
• Must be comfortable driving to various regions in Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC, and Manitoba
• Must have highway and mountain driving experience
• 2-3 nights out (could vary)

Location: Edmonton, AB

Schedule: 4 on 4 off

What you will do

• Operate vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT and company safety regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
• Manage appropriate cargo documentation and provide necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods.
• Coordinate the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured.
• Maintain contact with the dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport.

What You’ll Bring

• Valid Class 1/AZ License is required
• Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events)
• Truck should not be older than 10 years
• Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable with smartphone technology
• Reliable, flexible, punctual and safe driving behaviors
• 1 year of verifiable tanker driving experience
• Minimum 1 year of Super B experience is required
• Mountain driving experience is required
• Comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations
• Must be bondable and legally able to work in Canada
