Job summary

GetHired, Inc. is seeking a responsible driver with a BC Class 1 license to manage delivery and pickup of products in Abbotsford, BC. The role requires pre-trip and en-route inspections, safe handling of bulk feed, and accurate record-keeping. Travel to the USA may be required.

Candidates should be self-motivated with strong English communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while upholding safety policies and company values.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and write in English; ensure accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to plan routes and use GPS/trip planning tools.
  • Experience with vehicle inspections and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-trip and en-route inspections of truck and product.
  • Deliver and pick up products per route in a safe, efficient, cost-effective manner.
  • Load/unload bulk feed deliveries following CFIA standards and procedures.
  • Maintain and update records (bill of lading, inspection reports, trip reports).
  • Notify supervisor of any issues during delivery and help resolve them.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure conveyances are up to date.
  • Handle fuel card purchases and carry required equipment on vehicle.

Job description

Responsible to theProduction Manager for the delivery and/or pick-up of product.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible for followingbiosecurity and other company policies.

  • Responsible for theknowledge of all WHMIS and TDG regulations and procedures.

  • Maintains knowledge of and,executes all Company Safety Policies and Procedures as required by theorganization and other regulatory agencies.

  • Responsible for beingself-motivated and being able to work independently.

  • Maintains and represents aprofessional and positive image for the company at all times.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned, including holiday relief.

  • Functions as a team member.

  • Must adhere and be committed to our company values: hard work, high standards, honesty and harmony.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES


  • Perform pre-trip vehicleinspections, and en-route inspections of truck and product.

  • Deliver and pick up productsas required by assigned route, ensuring smooth fulfillment of daily tasks in anefficient and cost-effective manner.

  • Load and unload bulk feeddeliveries according to CFIA standards (including following sequencing andflushing procedures as required).

  • Maintain and update allrecords and paperwork according to Company standards (i.e. Bill of lading,Inspection report (Pre-trip, En-route, Post-Trip, Trip Reports, UnloadingLogs).

  • Inform manager immediatelyof concerns and/or problems while helping to correct any mistakes especiallyregarding issues upon delivery of products.

  • Maintain vehicle cleanlinessaccording to Company standards and policies.

  • Verify that conveyances areup to date.

  • Responsible for allpurchases applied to fuel card holder’s account.

  • Carry the necessary andrequired equipment on vehicle (changes, safety gear).


WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • Agriculture experienceand/or feed mill experience would be an asset this position.

  • Previous Class 1 drivingexperience would be an asset to this position.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS


  • Grade12 Education

  • A valid BC Class 1 driver’slicense

  • Airbrake certification

  • Willing to travel to the USA without restrictions.


SKILLS REQUIRED


  • Agood command of spoken and written English.

  • Good interpersonal,communication, and organizational skills.

  • Must be a self-starter.

  • Ability to operate equipment and work aids commonly used (GPS and other trip planning aids, perform brake adjustments, monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, perform emergency roadside repairs.)

  • Physical strength andstamina to fulfill the required duties and responsibilities.
