Job summary

Vertex is accepting applications for an experienced full-time Class 1 Fluids Operator based in Dawson Creek, BC. The role requires a valid Class 1 license, clean driving abstract, and tank-truck experience.

You will drive, operate and maintain fluid-haul equipment, participate in safety programs, and travel to multiple Vertex worksites in all weather conditions. Vertex offers extended health benefits, dental and vision coverage, disability and life insurance, and a stable, growth-oriented work

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driver abstract.
• 2 years’ experience driving tank trucks (fluid hauling) desired.
• Capable to operate Tri - Axle units and Super B trucks.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate equipment safely and professionally.
• Follow safety policies and procedures for company and customer.
• Attend toolbox talks, safety meetings, and hazard assessments.
• Work with coworkers, contractors and customers as a team.
• Comply with all regulations and ensure up-to-date safety certificates.
• Maintain units and complete required paperwork on time.
• Travel to various worksites; lifting heavy tools and parts may be required.

• Compensation is commensurate with experience, and hours worked but can be within the range of ($7,000-$11,000/month)

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driver abstract
• 2 years’ experience driving tank trucks (fluid hauling) desired
• Capable to operate Tri - Axle units and Super B trucks

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive and operate equipment in a safe and professional manner
  
• Participate in safety program by ensuring all company and customer policies & procedures are adhered to
• Attendance and participation in toolbox talks and safety meetings, FLRA’s, hazard assessment development, pre-trips/post-trips
• Willing to work as a team player with coworkers, contractors, and customers
• Follow all local, provincial and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Ensure all safety certificate training are up to date
• Perform maintenance on units to ensure cleanliness and efficient operation
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation properly within set timelines; this includes daily logs, waste manifests etc.
• Workload and schedules may vary depending on emergency situations and routine work that can be punctuated by very busy periods
• Travel is required and driving will occur in all weather conditions to various customer and/or Vertex worksites
• Ability to lift heavy tools and parts
