Canada Cartage Group is seeking a professional Class 1 driver for Edmonton, AB. Operate large trucks and flatdecks, adhering to DOT and company safety rules while delivering cargo on time.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, cargo documentation, and securement. Must be able to drive across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and BC, with strong communication with dispatch and customers.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1/AZ license is required.
• Superb driving record with minimal demerits and incidents.
• Experience with flat deck hauling and highway/mountain routes.
• Strong load securement and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication with dispatch and customers.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle safely and in compliance with DOT and company safety regulations.
• Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle readiness.
• Manages cargo documentation and delivers goods on schedule.
• Coordinates loading/unloading and secures cargo for transit.
• Maintains status updates with dispatcher and notes delays or issues.

Position Summary

Looking for professional and safety-oriented Class 1 Truck Driver in Edmonton, AB. Operates a large or heavy truck and flatdeck that transports cargo to and from specified locations on time and according to schedule. Role involves adhering to all traffic and safety regulations, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensuring the timely delivery of cargo to its destination.

• Location: Edmonton, AB
• Areas Served: Alberta, occasionally BC and SASK
• Weekly Shift :Tuesdays to Fridays
• Start time – 4:00 AM to 6AM
• Must have Flat deck driving experience
• Must have Highway and Mountain driving Experience
• Must be comfortable driving to Various regions in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.

What you will do

• Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all DOT and company safety regulations.
• Conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
• Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods.
• Coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured.
• Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport.

What You’ll Bring

• Valid Class 1/AZ License is required
• Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events)
• Must have Flat deck driving experience
• Minimum 1+ years of Highway and Winter driving experience required
• Minimum 1 year BC Mountain driving experience required
• Load securement , curtain side , Tarping , Two Wheler and Power Jack experience is an asset
• Capable of performing all aspects of the job function for which you are applying
• Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable with smartphone technology
• Reliable, flexible, punctual and safe driving behaviors
• Comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations
• Must have bondable and legally able to work in Canada
