Job Description

Our Pigging & Decoking division is looking to add to our existing Operator team. You would be required to drive the tractor trailer to various sites and once on site you would be working with crews of 4-8 people. The work can be physical in nature when rigging-in and rigging-out with much of your day spent operating the pigging equipment from the heated/cooled operator's cab. The work varies day to day and you would be deployed to our various projects throughout the province and occasionally to sites throughout Canada.

Our Pigging and Decoking Operators provide support to refineries, petrochemical facilities and associated industrial complexes by cleaning pipes and pipelines through means of hydraulically propelling a mechanical pig through the line.

Shifts vary greatly as the work is mostly project based. With that being said there is a lot of overtime opportunities!

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safely mobilize equipment to and from client sites, company stations, and other facilities as directed
  • Set up and operate specialty pigging equipment to clean systems at facilities
  • Provide mechanical troubleshooting support in the field in order to ensure pigging equipment maintains operable
  • Provide mechanical support in the shop in order to repair and maintain equipment
  • Ensure completion of accurate daily driving and on duty logs
  • Proactively ensure that all personal training requirements are met and maintained
  • Maintain open and truthful dialogue with Supervisors, Project Managers and Operations Manager to ensure understanding of scope of work and job readiness
  • Haul hoses, PPE, and tools to where the work is being done
  • Complete required paperwork for projects and jobs
  • Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 1 license (able to drive manual transmission) with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required
  • Onsite training will be provided
  • H2S Alive and Standard First Aid are an asset but not required, we can train you!
  • Ability to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Flexibility in scheduling, both day or night shifts will be required

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude an asset but not a requirement
  • You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
  • Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
  • Able to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
  • You’re happiest working with a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
