Job summary

Sanjel Energy Services Inc., a division of STEP Energy Services, is hiring a Class 1 Driver – Cementing. The role involves driving trucks and operating hydraulic pumping systems to place cement or treat wells with chemicals, sand, or gases.

It is a safety-sensitive position with opportunities for career progression within cementing operations. Ideal candidates will have a valid Class 1 license, experience in oilfield cementing or pressure pumping, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Valid Unrestricted Class 1 Driver's license and clean Driver's Abstract are required.
• Local candidates preferred; housing or relocation considered.
• Operational training and oilfield cementing or pressure pumping experience is a significant asset.
• Oilfield off-road driving experience and direct WCSB experience are advantageous.
• Capable of working outdoors in extreme conditions; physically fit for demanding tasks.
• Team-focused and safety-conscious attitude is essential.
• First Aid, H2S Alive, Oilfield Driver Awareness (ODA), and Heavy Haulers certs are assets.
• Agriculture or Military/CAF experience is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Drive well servicing equipment to and from well sites.
• Read gauges to monitor pressure and adjust pumping procedures.
• Complete required paperwork (expense accounts, fuel sheets, logbooks, pre/post-trip inspections).
• Perform pre-trip inspections before journeys.
• Assist with rigging-in and other job-site tasks as required.
• Operate pumping systems to handle chemicals, gases, sand, cement and other materials.
• Assemble pumping equipment and attach pumps/hoses to wellheads and mix cement.

The Opportunity

The Class 1 Driver – Cementing, will report directly to the Manager - District Service Line and are accountable for driving trucks and operating specialized hydraulic pumping systems to place cement in wells or to treat wells with chemicals, sand mixtures or gases to stimulate production. This is a Safety Sensitive position.

This role has potential to offer a long-term career path, with access to ongoing training and career advancement. Ideally, the Class 1 Driver will develop into a Cementing Operator within the company.

General Responsibilities

• A strong focus on Safety is essential as well as adherence to our guiding principles of teamwork, integrity, service and excellence
• Complete and submit all required paperwork (i.e. expense account, bonus and fuel sheets, logbooks, pre/post-trip inspections, loading tickets)
• Complete a proper pre-trip inspection prior to leaving on any journey
• Drive well servicing equipment to and from well sites
• Assist with rigging-in and other functions at the job site as required
• Read gauges to monitor pressure, density, rate and/or concentration and adjust pumping procedure as required
• Ensure units are clean and functioning
• Operate pumping systems to pump chemicals, gases, sand, cement and/or other materials
• Assemble pumping equipment & attach pumps and hoses to wellheads, mix chemicals and cement

Qualifications

• Valid Unrestricted Class 1 Driver's license and clean Driver's Abstract are required
• Local candidates are preferred. Individuals with housing available, or those open to relocation would be strongly considered
• Operational training and experience in oilfield cementing or pressure pumping services considered a significant asset
• Individuals who possess oilfield off-road driving experience and skills are prioritized, direct WCSB experience an advantage
• Capable of working in extreme working conditions (outdoors, weather, terrain)
• Physically fit and able to complete demanding tasks for extended periods of time
• Team focused and a SAFETY conscious attitude
• Certificates in First Aid, H2S Alive, Oilfield Driver Awareness (ODA), and Heavy Haulers are considered an asset
• Applicants with Agriculture, or Military / Canadian Armed Forces experience are strongly encouraged to apply
