Van Kam Freightways Ltd. (Van Kam) is seeking a Class 1 Driver to join our team in Kamloops, BC. The role focuses on safe, on-time deliveries, pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and collaboration with Dispatch and drivers to keep operations efficient.

We require a valid Class 1 license, winter highway experience, and the ability to drive at night. Our drivers are supported by a team that values safety, reliability, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About Us:

Van-Kam Freightways Ltd. (Van Kam) is one of the largest regional carriers in Western Canada specializing in less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation. With 8 terminal locations across British Columbia, we fulfill shipments to communities within 1-3 days throughout BC and Alberta. Between our own resources and our partner network, our coverage extends beyond Western Canada into the U.S. and Eastern Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting pre-trip and post trip inspections
• When necessary, assist with loading/unloading trailer
• Reporting any issues promptly
• Complying with all regulations regarding transportation and hours of service
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with Dispatch and team members.
• Uphold safety and security standards at all times
• Provide outstanding customer service.

What gets you in the driver’s seat:

Pay Package:

Actual rate of pay varies among drivers based on a variety of factors such as route assignments, availability, actual time worked, and performance metrics which include efficiency and achieving safety milestones. We encourage all applicants to discuss compensation openly with our hiring team to ensure a clear understanding of the potential earnings associated with this position.

• 75 cents per mile
• $50quarterly safety bonus
• $32.61 hourly rate for pre-trip/post-trip, wait times, etc.
