Qualifications

  • Deux ans d'expérience de conduite de camion commercial ou similaire.
  • Connaissance des quartiers environnants souhaitée.
  • Capacité à soulever jusqu'à 50 lbs (22,7 kg) sans aide.

Based out of our Vancouver Plant near Powell Street and Commercial Drive, we are hiring a full-timeClass 1 Driver

A typical day involves several stops to customers including food processing facilities, farms, local restaurants, supermarkets, and shopping mall complexes. Shifts are expected to start early in the morning with hands-on work involved for some runs.There are no overnights or long haul routes expected.

Driving routes will consist ofcollecting from raw material customers in support of our used cooking oil collection, grease trap services and large volume bulk pick up customers. The role requires the delivery of exceptional customer service when interacting with customers. Often viewed as the face of the Company, Drivers are expected to act professionally both on the road and at locations of service when dealing with customers and the public.

This is a full-time, permanent position for 40 hours per week.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Drive scheduled routes based on instructions from the Dispatchers
  • Collect raw materials at customer’s locations (including food processors, restaurants, supermarkets, commercial kitchens, shopping malls, etc.)
  • Proper use of vacuum pumps, hydraulic equipment and other fleet tools
  • Performing pre- and post-trip inspection checks
  • Reporting damages, issues or concerns to the Dispatcher in a timely manner
  • Perform shift work based on company business needs which may involve early mornings or weekends

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Must have BC Class 1 Driver’s license with a clean abstract
  • Strong knowledge of the surrounding neighborhoods and Lower Mainland areas preferred
  • 2 years of commercial truck driving experience or similar capacity
  • Prior experience with roll off trucks beneficial
  • Ability to work flexible hours such as overtime and weekends as dictated by needs of the business
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills when handling customer relations
  • Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
  • Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily
  • Adaptable to adverse conditions including cold weather, odours and exposure to raw materials
