Job summary

Midland Transport seeks a Class 1 Night Driver based in Truro, NS. The role runs nightly from Truro, typically covering Truro to Moncton and then to Maritime terminals including Dartmouth, Charlottetown, Saint John, Fredericton, Kentville, or Sydney.

The shift is Sun-Thurs, 19:00–7:00, offering a comprehensive benefits package, vacation, and advancement opportunities within a respected Canadian carrier with 55+ years in business.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School or GED.
  • Class 1 license with minimum 3 years' safe tractor driving experience.
  • Clean driving record and criminal background check.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Safety conscious.

Responsibilities

  • Move trailers safely and efficiently between the plant and yard.
  • Complete regular yard checks, including verifying all equipment onsite, fuel levels, reefer settings, and inside box temperatures.
  • Communicate any equipment issues to the Midland Shop or to Logistics for outside carriers, ensuring no compromised equipment goes unidentified.
  • Execute other tasks as required.
  • Occasional moves between terminals as required.

Job description

Midland Transport is currently seeking a professional Class 1 Night Driver based in Truro, NS. The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and a commitment to providing a Superior Quality service.

Main Role

This run departs from Truro nightly and typically follow the route: Truro to Moncton. From Moncton to various terminals throughout the Maritimes, Dartmouth, Charlottetown, Saint John, Fredericton, Kentville, or Sydney.

Sun-Thurs (19:00-7:00)
